Nintendo Switch Online Expands Virtual Boy Library
With its latest update, Nintendo has significantly expanded the Virtual Boy game library available on its Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service. Five new titles, including classics like V-Tetris and Jack Bros., are now accessible to subscribers, bringing the total to twelve games in the West. This is a notable step towards making the majority of the Virtual Boy’s limited library available to modern gamers.
The Virtual Boy, which saw only 22 games released during its short lifespan in the 1990s, is now closer to being fully represented on the Switch. While Nintendo has confirmed plans for 16 games, including fan favorites like Mario Clash, there are still some titles that may never make it to the service due to licensing issues. As Nintendo continues to revive its retro catalog, one can’t help but wonder what other hidden gems might come next for the Switch Online service.
